Ever wonder what that handle does? Kailey doesn't wonder about it any more. She spent some time tonight flushing the toilet over and over and thought the whole event was pretty great. She would lift the lid, look in, flush and slam the lid closed. (Repeat until water bill becomes outrageous.) Well, it's only a matter of time now before something unsafe goes right down the drain.
And, speaking of going down the drain.....

We have also found that if you train your kids properly from the start (say 3-6 weeks old) Friday Happy Hours with coworkers can be done somewhat successfully with small children.
Heather and Kailey both started their Happy Hour experiences at Murphy's Irish Pub in Old Town Alexandria; a perfect place to start! Heather went to a school staff Post Christmas party in January of 2003 when she was about 5 weeks old. Kailey beat her sister by a few weeks and ended up at Murphy's after the Fairfax Firefighters Emerald Society's St. Patrick's Day Parade in March 2006. In any event, both of our children are usually decent when we go out to dinner and sometimes seem even better when non-family members are present. This makes Happy Hour pretty easy!
Tonight, Heather and Kailey joined me and some co-workers for drinks at 'Cheeseburger in Paradise'. They behaved themselves, colored, talked with others, and both girls wiped their plates clean. Macaroni and Cheese is always a favorite, but for some reason, they love eating it at 'Cheeseburger'. Thanks to some very child friendly people (thanks Karen, Kevin and Cathy!), Happy Hour can be quite relaxing. :)

Cheers! Your girls are great at happy hour... maybe because Heather gets a little alcohol from all the fruit she eats from our drinks :) Plus, it's great to color with kids from time to time :)
