Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop

So, we figured it was only a matter of time before Kailey got sick. Yes, we really did think we avoided it this time because it's been 4 days. But, Kailey was not be to be outdone.

Yesterday, Bill and I rented a steam cleaner so we could clean up the carpets. Between Heather getting sick in our room and the rest of our carpets in the house with two kids, a dog, and a cat, they were getting pretty yucky. We cleaned everything up and put together some stuff for Good Will.

This morning, we loaded the car with the steam cleaner, Good Will stuff, and Christmas presents for our trip down to Charlottsville today. Dropped off the steam cleaner, dropped off stuff for Good Will (the last tax write off of the year!), and stopped at the gas station for gas, food, and drinks for our trip to see the cousins. Kailey and Heather get some water and some crackers. We drive about 3 miles south and Kailey throws up. Kailey says, "Uh oh!", looks down and starts crying. We stop to clean her up, call the cousins to reschedule the trip for Sunday and drive home.

Bill has cleaned out the car (which is a confined space and sure to smell for some time to come), Kailey has been cleaned up and the car seat stuff is in the washing machine. THEN, Kailey gets sick on the kitchen floor!

The carpets are clean for now. If we can keep Kailey off the carpets for the day, we may be ok!
