I got an email from Bill today who told me I needed to see the new acrobatic trick that Kailey had learned today. Apparently, Bill was downstairs while Kailey was playing upstairs. When he had left Kailey, she was sitting in her room looking at books and playing with some stuff. A few minutes later he heard Kailey whining like she does in the morning. After calling to her a few times and telling her to just come downstairs, he went up to check on the situation.
Kailey was in her crib asking to get out!
The good news: So far she doesn't seem to know how to get out. Or rather, knows that the extra few inches to the floor is a little scarier when you are going down than when you are climbing up and in.
The moral of the story:
Don't sign your kid up for gymnastics and encourage the flexibility and strength that is required to do things at home which could lead to a more difficult existence!
