I am happy to report that Bill and I took our two children out to dinner and we all had a good time! Very surprising outcome these days.
Usually on Monday nights I have band practice from 7:30-9:30. I love to go and have really enjoyed picking up my clarinet again after so many years. However, since I have gotten back into playing, I have noticed many screws that are loose (clarinet, not me) and some pads and corks which really have seen better days. So, after our last practice before Christmas break, I took my clarinet in for a tune up (no pun intended). Apparently the guy ended up with the flu this past week and lay in bed all week. Needless to say, I don't have a instrument for tonight.
Taking advantage of a night off, Bill decided we could go to the gym. Sounds strange, but I really like going to the gym. I feel good that I'm working out and we also drop off our kids at the daycare there for the hour. That means Bill and I get to do something without our kids. And, Heather and Kailey love the gym playroom anyway - it really is a win-win situation.
To reward ourselves for going to the gym, we decided to go to Glory Days. Yes, they have good food, yes they have Guinness on tap, yes they have TVs on for the kids to watch, yes it means we don't have to cook anything, AND Heather's preschool is currently running a fundraiser with them; we just need to bring in the receipt to the school.
Heather and Kailey sat quietly, Kailey watched some football (swear she held her hands up and said, 'Touchdown'!... we don't even watch football anymore). Heather watched Cartoon Network. Bill and I had a Guinness and we all went home happy.
Good times.

We both need to get our butts to the gym! Going to dinner sounds like a whole lot more fun though. J~
