Truths:
* Kids aren't always going to go to bed when they are supposed to.
* There aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.
* There aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I don't want to do.
* Some people don't like little kids.
* Some days I'm 'some people'.
* It's good to hang out with other families with kids; they understand things others can't.
* There will always be more things I'd like to do with my kids, but time just doesn't allow it.
* One last hug is nice, even if it is way past bedtime.
* I'm starting to see how time flies by.
* Daycare and preschool can really eat into a family budget year after year.
* Whining is awful.
* Expecting children to be good doesn't always work.
* Not everyone will appreciate your child or want to spend time with them.
* Not everyone will understand your decisions about your family, but they don't need to.
* It's uncomfortable to be with others who expect children to be mini-versions of adults.
* It's fun to watch Bill play with our kids, even when they scream really loud.
* Someone will always get sick or pee on a long car trip.
* Any behavior I like or dislike that my child is doing is most likely 'just a phase' and, it too, will be replaced with some other behavior which may be better or worse than the one preceding it.
* I enjoy spending time at home with our family.
* I'm starting to see that sitting home with our family is 'doing something', even if we don't leave the house.
* Despite what I think and say sometimes, my kids really are great.
Wishes:
* More hours in the day for playing, reading, seeing friends, cleaning, folding laundry, and sleeping. That way I could use the other 24 hours to drive kids to activities, play with them, color, and help make arts and crafts projects without feeling guilty about taking time for me.
* A clean house.
* Childrens' bedrooms which can be played in, but are organized and child-friendly for clean up.
* More time to walk the dog so he doesn't feel so neglected.
* Someone to do our laundry and fold it. I could probably handle putting it away after that.... probably.
* More time to spend with Bill.
* Time and money for a family vacation to some place we would all appreciate and enjoy.
* A clean car without trash, old papers, food wrappers, toys, etc..
* More patience.
