Back to Work

We all have finished a successful week back work and school.

I had my 35th birthday on January 5, the day my students returned to school. Can't say that's a bad way to spend a birthday, but I would have also been just as happy to relax at home for another day of vacation! My students sang happy birthday to me, some remembered over break and made me a card. I found out one of my school parents also has a January 5th birthday. She brought me flowers, which was very nice of her! (As a side note, I have been taking Irish Dance lessons this fall and this mom is in the class with me).

Heather and Kailey were both very excited to go back to school, but they didn't go back until Tuesday. They both love going to school and have a great time telling us about the things they do at school. They were also happy to be back at daycare to see their friends :)

Bill also returned to work after a little break. A few months ago, Bill seemed to have hurt his shoulder. So, in December he finally went to the county doctor who put him on light duty to see if rest would help his shoulder. It does seem to be helping, but the light duty work he's doing has taken him off shift work and placed him on day-work. So, instead of working 3 24-hour shifts, he has to work 8 hour days, 5 days a week. He gets all weekends off and he's home every night, but I think he'd much rather be at the fire house. Since his day-work is considered non-essential, the county furloughed all non-essential employees that Friday of New Years week. So, Bill also had a long weekend and then had to return to work with the rest of us.

Overall, nothing earth shattering happened this week, but thought I would update the blog anyway! I will continue to make an effort to update. And, maybe next time I'll get around to putting up some pictures.
