Kailey Time!

This past week, Heather had a 4 day, 2-hour nature camp. This left Kailey with two hours with just on parent. On Monday, Kailey enjoyed the playground at the rec center - all by herself, "No Heather, only me!"

As Kailey has pointed out many times at gymnastics, she loves to work on upper body strength. She likes to pull her legs up, hang, and swing. She's pretty darn strong.

As Kailey and I walked around, we noticed that the rec center is also located near the train tracks. There was a bridge and Kailey and I walked up to see if we could see any trains coming. The bridge goes over the top of the tracks, so you can watch the train go right under you. I figured it would be fun for Kailey to see a train that close, even if it was loud (Ok, I though it would be fun to watch!). We called Auntie Jenn who was very happy to look up train schedules to see if we could time our walk so we could watch a train. Thanks to Auntie Jenn, we were able to pick up Heather at 11am, quickly walk up to the bridge and make it to the top in time to see a cargo train coming in the distance. Both girls were a little nervous as the train's whistle blew and the train chugged under us. But, as the clacking of the wheels continued, they got brave enough to get a closer look over the fence containing us on the top of the bridge.
A few days this week, Kailey and I had breakfast at the best grocery store in the world - Wegmans! Wegmans started in Rochester, NY - about 2 hours from where I grew up in Syracuse. It was always busy and always packed with great take out food, wide selections of bulk candy (big deal for field trips in school), coffee/tea bar, restaurants, videos, flower departments, etc.. I could go on, but unless you have seen it, you won't believe it's anything other than another grocery store. We had a Wegmans open here about a month ago. Very exciting!
Kailey enjoyed having breakfast in the 'restaurant' as she sat at the little picnic table and watched Dora on the tv there. She didn't do as much eating as she did walking around and playing with the little tables and chairs.

Kailey also got to spend one day at home with Daddy. That made her happy too. She really does like to get all the attention. We'll have to make sure we plan more times for just each one individually.
