A Beautiful Day

Since moving to Virginia from Syracuse, NY, I have missed many snowy winter days. However, I have also come to greatly enjoy the unusual early spring weather that we occasionaly get. Today was was of those days. It was kinda windy, but it was still close to 65 degrees; probably even warmer in the sun. Heather and Kailey enjoyed singing in the sunshine on their 'stage'. Heather loves to sing (so much that one may confuse her daily life with an opera production) and Kailey is starting to pick up on the tunes and words. They played outside with the neighbors for most of the morning and part of the afternoon. Which was good because...
Kailey spend the whole day in her 'big girl pants'. No, not the same pair all day. She went through 8 pairs in total before we gave up, took a bath at 7pm and put a diaper on for the night. Not too bad clean up-wise since we were outside. That is, until it got overcast, turned a little colder and started to rain.
The effort of not peeing in her pants (which really wasn't much of an effort, in my opinion, since we went through 8 pairs of pants and underwear!) obviously wore her out. She insisted that she wasn't tired and didn't need a nap. However, when I put on a short movie for Heather and Kailey, I returned downstairs to a sleeping Kailey. A good thing too since she tends to turn into a small monster by 5pm if she doesn't nap.
